The common pipe thread lathe, also known as pipe threading lathe, is a horizontal lathe designed for turning and processing large diameter pipe fittings, featuring a large spindle through-hole aperture (generally 135mm or more) and chucks at the front and rear of the spindle box, so as to facilitate the clamping and processing of large diameter pipe fittings or bar pieces, which is widely used in mechanical manufacturing, petroleum, chemical, coal, geological exploration, urban water supply and drainage and other industries. Machining operations.
The common pipe threading lathe is mainly used to process the internal and external threads of pipes, and can also be used as a common lathe to process the external circle, internal bore and end face of shafts and discs, and the machine is equipped with a taper device to process workpieces with taper.
Performance characteristics of ordinary pipe threading lathe.
1、The spindle bore hits with high passability and stable clamping of workpieces in double chucks
2、High quality high strength cast iron casting overall bed with good rigidity and high precision
3、The surface of guide rail has been treated with super audio sudden fire, high hardness and long life
4、Configuration of tapered steel device, can meet the tapered threading cutting requirements
Generally a large through-hole is set in the spindle box, and the workpiece is clamped by two chucks located at the two ends of the spindle for rotary movement after passing through the through-hole. There are generally two ways of feeding the tool: one is the same as on a normal lathe, driven by a screw in front of the bed and the tool holder; the other is by a flat comb cutter on the bed’s central slide (see automatic opening and closing of the thread cutting head) cutting into the workpiece and moving forward with it. Some machines for processing long tubes also have workpiece support devices, such as the central frame, with the tool holder, rear support, etc.
